Crowns / Caps
In following situation the crowns are indicated:

  • Root canal Rxed teeth with extensively loss of tooth structure
  • When there is tooth fracture at gum level or extensive decay, a crown is indicated
  • When there is tooth fracture at gum level or extensive decay, a crown is indicated
  • To enhance the esthestics & function sometimes on the developmentally malformed (weak teeth, discoloured), malposed or malaligned teeth crown is required

 


Bridge

A bridge is a conjunction of crowns, to restore the missing teeth or tooth. Just like the normal bridge, support is taken from adjacent teeth to replace the missing teeth or tooth. Advantage is that it is fixed and self cleansing prosthesis and patient does not require to remove it at night.

Depending upon the requirement & economy the different types of material are used to fabricate crowns and bridges.

  • Nickel chrome metal

  • Tooth Colored – Acrylic with / without metal coping Ceramic with /without metal coping
  • Metal free - procera empress 

 

Flexible Removable Dentures
The old age heavy, thick, hard & removable partial dentures are now replaced with the modern light weight, thin & soft flexible dentures giving sigh of relief to patients. These are popularly called as Vallplast Dentures the material is state of art Thermoplasticised Nylon denture work.

The advantage is that it is very kind to the soft tissues as well as teeth as does not have dental clasps wires /bars. There is no virtual irritation, denture soreness or ulcers which are commonly seen with acrylic dentures. These are effective in patients with known acrylic allergy.  These are easy to clean and do not break if fallen also hence require less maintenance.
